HERE NOW/IF THEN

This book examines the role of industrialization in reshaping the social and environmental landscape of the Inland Empire. From the legacy of the second agricultural revolution to the growing presence of automation and artificial intelligence, these images invoke historical advancements in technology as portents of alienation, cultural friction, and social inequity. With particular emphasis on the logistics industry's extractive power over the region, the book asks who will be left to remember what once was. Using various AI software to expand, erase, and reference original photography as well as quotes about the Inland Empire sourced from OpenAI's ChatGPT, each page imagines a different world at the crossroads.

HERE NOW/IF THEN was published as a limited edition artist's book in April 2023.
